AI in the future of medicine
The covid-19 crisis will probably be a bit shorter due to artificial intelligence (AI). Among the various initiatives launched to find a capable treatment in the fight against the pandemic, one of them had an outstanding hero: the use of the IBM Summit supercomputer.
The summit used artificial intelligence (AI), a technology that has already begun to change Medicine. Thanks to it, the search for new drugs, the analysis of medical tests, the diagnosis of diseases and the treatment that each person done with his health will undergo a radical transformation. In fact, in some areas this has already happened. A study conducted by the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and published in Annals of Oncology found that a computer can be more effective than a dermatologist when it comes to diagnosing melanoma.
According to some experts, the future changes are so profound that no one can guess their magnitude, as when the mobile phone appeared, no one could predict all the applications that we bring to these devices today. However, we have some clues. The fastest growing credit organizations don’t use real money like Paypal, and the top movie content providers don’t use movie theaters like Netflix, and many phone companies don’t telecommunications infrastructure like Skype. In future Medicine, patients will certainly see fewer white clothes, yet our health will be monitored more than ever. It will be a cure for five PES: personalized, preventive, prognostic, general and for all.
